Will Moringa Survive Even After A Food Stortage?

Apparently in most articles I have read about the future of food The Moringa Tree as been the center of discussion. government and industry are learning more and more about how one Moringa Tree and change with or not people die if there is indeed a severe food shortage. What would we do in this country when the inevitable happens. Maybe our children's grandchildren won't ever see an orange but they will know Moringa. After reading this and wanted to share it. Taken from Business World online:

Dining in 2050: locusts, moringa, earthworms and seaweed
"Future Feast" explores what people may eat when vast farmlands have disappeared and some species would have died out thanks to climate change. "The challenge was to present the future right now. We can’t think of this in 2050 when it’s too late," said Ms. Young. The result was a dining table loaded with dishes featuring unusual ingredients like locusts and earthworms. "When our food supply runs out, what on earth are we going to eat?," said Ms. Young, noting that these animals are "easier to be farmed. Essentially, you can find a way to farm them yourselves." Ms. Lumen served spicy locusts encased in sweet gelatin, and the flavors and texture of the spicy, crunchy insect and the sweetish and bouncing gelatin complimented each other. The locust gains a crunchy texture from being fried twice, and the spiciness comes from adobo powder and chilies. The clear gelatin also served as a visual tool. "My son, chef Joey (Herrera) said, ‘If you’re going to make them eat locusts, make them see what they’re eating,’" said Ms. Lumen. Mr. Del Rosario served up green-tinged panna cottas made with soy and moringa (malungay) leaves. He chose the moringa for a reason. "It can grow in the worst conditions, and yet they’re very nutritious," he said.

China, Cuba Cooperate on Moringa Research

With experts warning of a worldwide food shortage in the future, Chinese and Cuban scientists are collaborating to research the moringa plant, which may have a role in feeding the world's hungry.
The moringa is also called the miracle tree for its nutritional value. In 2008, the United States National Institutes of Health named the tree its "Plant of the Year".
"As a potential solution to malnutrition and food shortages, moringa research is urgently needed in China," said Li Guohua, director of the Yunnan Tropical Crops Research Institute.
He said Chinese scientists are researching and developing moringa-related products such as capsules, juice and tea to make the products more acceptable to Chinese.
In order to accelerate the research on the plant, China and Cuba are cooperating in moringa planting and manufacturing and opened a Sino-Cuban center in Xishuangbanna, the southernmost prefecture of Yunnan province, in April.
Li said the center, which covers about 12 hectares, would accelerate the industrialization of moringa products in China.
"China has no tradition of moringa planting and eating, but Cuba has and we can learn their advanced technologies," Li said.
The center's development plan from now until 2017 includes gardens in both China and Cuba and a regular exchange of scientists.
The cooperation covers seed exchanges, research and development of moringa products and personnel training and exchanges.
"We have introduced four varieties of moringa, which are still not enough for cultivating improved seeds," Li said, adding that moringa has 13 varieties.

The Body: Are you Aware of the Body's Need for Acid and Alkaline ?

You will find Moringa goes along way  in Finding balance in the areas of diet and lifestyle is critical to your body’s overall health  keeping your body in check as far as the need to stay alkaline.

Maintaining a balance of 75 percent alkaline foods and 25 percent acidic foods is ideal. An easy way to accomplish this is to make fruits and vegetables the main part of each meal. Most fruits and vegetables are alkaline in nature. Some fruits, such as citrus, have an acidic pH outside of the body, but when consumed, leave an alkaline residue in the body after being metabolized*.

Alka Seltzer is alkaline. Plop plop fizz fizz and 10 minutes later you felt a little better. We have all tried it. The reason Is because it just worked, why cause its alkaline. It balanced out things a little.
Why not feel better all the time only much better than any over the counter feel better something you have to buy when your feeling blah.

Leafy Greens like Moringa for Improved Personal Health

I found this on It's Moringa blog site . It was dated last February. It still rings true today. "Eat your Greens" Leafy Greens like Moringa for Improved Personal Health Remember mom saying, "...you need to eat your vegetables, especially the dark green leafy ones. Green leafy vegetables are very nutrient-dense and incredibly healthy. They are a vital source of antioxidants that are very beneficial to providing weight loss help. People have often known how nutritious leafy greens are, but still choose to exclude them from their diet. However, if everyone truly understood the powerful capabilities of vegetables in a healthy diet, nobody would go without them. There are many types of leafy green vegetables, but the four most nutritious are Moringa, Kale, Spinach, Swiss chard and Romaine Lettuce. Moringa has multiple times more nutrition that Kale, Spinach, Swiss chard and Romain Lettuce. For instance, moringa has 25x the iron of Spinach. Kale also is high in folic acid and comes with a ton of potassium. Currently, the United States is among the top commercial producers of spinach in the world. Popeye references aside, spinach is incredibly nutritious. It's high in vitamin A and C and comes with a ton of iron. Swiss chard is similar to spinach. In the fourth century B.C., the Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote about the health benefits of chard. Swiss chard is high in vitamin C and vitamin K as well as rich in calcium. Nowadays, California is the lettuce capital of the United States. Lettuce is also very nutritious. The darker the lettuce, the better. Lettuce contains a ton of magnesium. Health Benefits of Leafy Greens Dark leafy green vegetables come with a ton of health benefits. Perhaps more so than any of the other superfood. What makes leafy greens so great, is the extraordinary amount of antioxidants and health promoting nutrients they manage to pack inside of so few calories. Eating dark green leafy vegetables on a regular basis can provide anti-aging benefits, help with weight loss, cancer and disease prevention and improve heart health. Anti-Aging Benefits of Leafy Green Vegetables There are a ton of nutrients in green leafy vegetables that help slow the aging process. Folate is one of them. When combined with other B-complex vitamins, folate has been shown to help regulate mental functions. Also, folate has been linked to preventing Alzeimher's disease. Another important nutrient in leafy green vegetables is vitamin E. Vitamin E has been linked to slowing down the aging process by several research groups. In one study, conducted by the National Institute of Aging, vitamin E was found to decrease the cause of mortality by 27%. Leafy Green Vegetables Provide Weight Loss Help Because leafy green vegetables are so low in calories and so high in nutrients, they are essential to any dieting plan to improve personal health. Dark green leafy vegetables are also very high in fiber. Fiber helps make you feel fuller more quickly. Therefore, adding vegetables to your diet is a great way to help you decrease calories without feeling deprived. Cancer and Disease Prevention Leafy greens' high level of antioxidants make them one of the best cancer-preventing foods around. It has been concluded that eating leafy greens 3 or more times a week has proven to significantly reduce the risk of stomach cancer. If you eat green leafy vegetables once per day, it can reduce your chances of getting lung cancer by half. Also, including leafy greens on a daily basis is shown to help prevent breast and colon cancer. Improved Heart Health Research conducted at Harvard Public School of Public Health concluded that eating green leafy vegetables every day will reduce your risk of coronary disease by up to 23%. This is because the antioxidants in leafy green vegetables help to prevent free radicals from lining artery walls and the rich fiber content helps remove unwanted plaque build-up on those walls. In another study, it was shown that one extra serving of vegetables a day lowered the risk of cardiovascular disease by as much as 11%. Dark green leafy vegetables are high in: •Vitamin's A, C, E & K •Potassium •Magnesium •Antioxidants •Iron •Calcium •Folate •Many B-vitamins The health benefits of adding leafy green vegetables are enormous. There is no reason not to incorporate the vegetables into your diet. In fact, you are punishing yourself by not doing so. If you want to improve your personal health and get some weight loss help, then you must start eating more leafy green vegetables
